- Standards for breeding Tricolors
Tricolor mice should have two shades of the background color in equal amounts with white (1/3 each color). Color similar to the Calico (jap. : Mi-Ke) of cats. Color patches should be clear-cute and well defined ; showing no brindling or intermingling of white hairs. There should be equal numbers of the different colored patches/spots. White markings can be any recognized pattern. The mouse should have good color balanced and the motif should be pleasing to the eye. Points are permissible, but not desirable. May be bred in any recognized color ; eyes to matches base, odd-eye permissible, but not derisable.
Faults Patches not sharply defined ; brindling or intermingling of white hairs in spots or patches. Color not in equal amount (too much or not enough white). A typical fault is a low amount of dark shade and a low contrast. Auteur : Dr. Roland Fischer (dr.roland.fischer@t-online.de) Source : Chilloutarea Mousery | |
